People In York

On July 4, 2012 by John

We went on a camera club (Washington Camera Club) outing to York, it was the apparently the hottest day of 2008, as you can guess the sun brought everyone out so that made for some decent street photography time, even though the light was harsh there was shots to be had using the high contrast to your advantage.

The one above I metered for the highlights which made the shadows darker separating the “Living Statue” from the background.

People doing what they do in the sun, having a light lunch with a nice cuppa.

Cameras out everywhere ;-)

The streets were packed.

Andy Warhol once said that life imitates art, I agree. I don’t know what is going on with the trouser leg though?

I felt sorry for this bloke, he was getting a lot of odd looks from people who thought he was better than him, people wouldn’t go near him, I think the way people went on said more about them than this homeless chap! This is where a graduated ND filter would have come in very handy, shame about the light in this one.

Part of a remembrance service, we shall never forget!

Donne vino e musica……magnifici!
