Pure Mono

…since I done a post so I better post one to keep my blog alive, well I have been super busy so haven’t had much John time, I haven’t even had the time to do any personal photo shoots or TFP shoots for portfolio building so here is a shot I found on my hard drive that I didn’t bother editing before now, it is a film scan off when I shot Trevor training at his gym. Ilford HP5+ developed in ID-11 for 9 minutes, I always go over with my development times to add a bit of extra contrast.

Well I finally managed to get out and get some shots today, Sue picked us up at 9 this morning and we drove to Catterick for the market, while they were looking at the stalls and spending money I was scoping the market for some shots, I didn’t get many as it was very busy and very rough so I kept my camera very tight in my hand and had the strap round my neck, at one point I took a shot of a butcher and he freaked out as he thought I was working for the DHSS, he wasn’t to know but if I was working for the DHSS he would not have even knew I was there ha ha. I decided to do some “in your face” street photography and get in as close as I could to the subjects, most shots were taken at between 50-70mm never once over 70mm so the farthest away I ever was from one of the subjects was about 2-3  feet away.  More photographs to come when I get them processed.

The UN’s World Health Organization has raised the alert over swine flu to level five – indicating human-to-human transmission in at least two countries.

It is a “strong signal that a pandemic is imminent”, the WHO says.
The first case allegedly was discovered in 1999 at  Beamish Museum in the North of England but as the area was full of Newcastle supporters the WHO decided not to say anything, when the Pure Mono undercover reporters questioned Roger Daltrey on the findings he allegedly said “Look for f**ks sake I can’t see what all the fuss is about, at the end of the day who gives a flying f**k about the stupid f**king black and white footbal strip wearing pikey bastards, less of those cants on the planet the better.” I t was later reported that Roger did not say this but it was allegedly a vicious lie started by Michael Owen to get get sacked from Newcastle to be released from his contract as his friends were picking on him for sticking with a team that is soon to be relegated to the first division.

As our undercover reporters dug deeper they found that Beamish actually kept the pig that caused the outbreak, the evidence is in the photograph above, our photography expert Johnny Hotshots had this to say  “You can tell it is a genuine photo  as real pigs don’t have a beak or wings.”

The NWO Conspiracy Theory!…

OK so here goes, here is the conspiracy theory the following points are fact and not part of a joke…

1. There is not enough food on the planet right now to sustain all of the humans living on it nor is there enough land to grow the food that is needed.
2. There is not enough oil on the planet to keep the world producing the food and plastics that is needed to keep us all alive and to keep us moving on the roads etc.
3. The biggest immigration problem for the US at the minute is people coming in from Mexico.
4. The US government has said that there are two treatments available to cure the new strain of Swine Flu, these are Taniflu and Relenza.
5. The US government invented a vaccine for the human form of Swine Flu in 1976!
6. The UK government has a huge stockpile of Tamiflu, they have enough to treat about 40% of the population.
7. AIDS is a virus that was made by humans to kill humans, it was genetically modified to kill people from an African descent, it was later discovered by use of genetic mapping that everyone on the planet did in fact descend from just 7 women from Africa(the scientists really thought that one out, not).
8. Africa has the worlds biggest reserves of oil, diamonds, gold, coal and lead.
9. Pigs have the closest genetic match to humans that there is in another mammal, hell we can even use pig parts for organ transplants, the pig is often used in tests for trying out vaccines and drugs which could help humans.
10. The only way to solve the problem of sustaining food and producing enough oil is to bring the worlds population down, this can be done via a flu pandemic or the number one choice by all  governments is war.

So the conspiracy that springs to my mind is that the NWO has actually manufactured the flu to wipe out about 30-40% of the population and not only this but also to go to war with not only Iran but also North Korea and probably somewhere along the line Russia will get involved just for the hell of it because they can, which will no doubt bring the population down even more. I would say it was started in Mexico to give the US government the smoke screen it needs to tighten the border even more and stop all Mexicans from entering the US and also the hope that is spreads to the other neigbour Cuba to weaken them, remember the only way a government can control the people is by a process called “order out of chaos”, we see it happening everyday even in out own country, England the home of free speech, since the July bombings we have had seen a vast increase in the use of CCTV cameras and also the police have new “anti terror” laws which enable them to stop people when and how they want, if you are a photographer you get pulled over all the time if you have your camera out in a public place, they can now even arrest you and lock you up if you take a photograph and a police officer or member of the armed forces walks into the frame.  So here it is the latest conspiracy you heard it here first, stay tuned for another episode on a blog near you!

Pigs provide an excellent ‘melting pot’ for these viruses to mix and match with each other.

Mining in Africa

So it would seem that life is about to change for all of us, if the flu or war doesn’t kill us then then ones who are left will be here to be controlled by the NWO and their army of CCTV cameras, councils that are allowed to snoop and fine you for putting a stone in the bin that is meant for glass etc will be watching every move you make and recording every phone call, text message and  email you sendand keep them stored in the BIG BROTHER DATABASE.

If it wasn’t for the new flu outbreak I would have moved to the USA by now lol

I must admit that I have never used IR film before as I don’t have the time for it, maybe I should say I don’t have the patience but the fact of the matter is I’m not one for standing around taking lots of shots waiting for over 30 seconds for it close the shutter. I wish I did have the patience as IR shots can be the most stunning black and white photographs there are, the blackened sky and the white grass can make cracking high contrast scenes. For this shot I used the black and white command in CS3, on a screen there is not much difference and some people can find it hard to see if it was a real IR shot or not, but once it is in print there are a few signs to say which is rel and which is not, the most obvious is the white halo effect you can get on things. You can now convert digital cameras to IR to take real IR images, it is a case of taking your camera to bits and replacing the filters on the sensor, this enables you use the camera as normal by this I mean not standing around for over 30 seconds to take a shot but to use the camera as you would in everyday use, maybe when the D700 gets replaced with a newer model I will get the D200 converted to IR as there will be no point in me having three digital SLR cameras, although I’m sure my wife will argue the case that she should inherit the older models ha ha.

Neptunes armchair

You can add a lot of things to a photograph digitally which can enhance the mood of a shot, in this one I used an ethereal glow which softens the light yet retains the sharpness. I called this one Neptune’s Armchair, it was taken at South Shields beach whilst driving past at about 40mph, luckily for me the sun was above it so it gave the edge of the stone work a rim light which in turn lifts it from the dark background. Although the ethereal glow in this one was added in CS2 it can also be done in other software.

The beauty of Ilford HP5+ is not only the fact that is a fast film that is suitable for most occasions but the fact that it can also be pushed to it’s extreme, all film can be pushed or pulled to some extent but this film has an amazing latitude, in this photograph I pushed it to ISO 3200, I used ID-11 for the development as I didn’t have any Microphen which is a special compensating developer used especially for pushing films, it took 27 minutes in a stock strength solution to develop, yes this is a long time but I feel it was worth it looking at the results, the grain is evident but it is only very slight, the slight toning is caused by scanning the negative in as a colour negative. This cat is my mothers cat and he is a natural poser for photographs, every time I am down my mothers house with a camera in my hand he comes over lets me know he is there and then jumps up onto a chair to pose for me, this has to be a first as every other animal I take shots of seems to run away from the camera lol.
